You listened to Shane Koyczan’s TED Talk today. Even though bullying (the use of force, threat, or coercion to abuse, intimidate, or aggressively dominate others) is a topic you usually associate with middle school, it’s a mistake to think it stops there.

A lot of the negative things that have gone on here at our school in the past are connected with the ways people feel comfortable making others uncomfortable. If we’re going to use our vision to accomplish our mission, that has to come to an end.

Please read Koyczan’s poem and reflect on what you know about bullying. Please use personal anecdotes. You don’t have to talk about yourself exactly, but talk about something you know because you saw, heard or experienced it. Focus on how you – specifically you with your beliefs, needs and attributes – can help change NFA to a place where everyone is comfortable.
